OWF Operational Noise Prognosis Taking Ship Traffic into Account
The study shows that, in addition to the wind turbines themselves, ship traffic in the vicinity of offshore wind farms also affects underwater noise levels. The noise maps developed provide a potential basis for environmental impact assessments and the planning of future offshore wind projects. The PURE Wind project, on which these results are based, was funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) under grant number 03F0933B.
