Open Dialogue at the GrüMe Workshop
On behalf of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation, itap organised a workshop in Hamburg from 28 to 30 September 2026 on the topic of ‘Low-noise foundation structures and noise abatement measures for the installation of offshore wind farms’ (BfN contract no. 3525200600). The aim of the workshop was to bring together different perspectives and facilitate a constructive exchange on technical possibilities, new developments and issues relevant to the approval process.
In addition to the BfN, participants included the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) and the State Office for Agriculture and the Environment of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (StALU), as well as wind farm operators, construction companies and NGOs with a nature conservation perspective. The interdisciplinary exchange was put to good use to discuss different viewpoints, share experiences and shed light on common challenges.
The technical findings of this workshop will be published at a later point in a suitable format.
