Field report pile driving noise
Field report pile driving noise (in German Erfahrungsbericht Rammschall) published

In the R&D-project “Naturverträgliche Entwicklung auf See (NavES) [Nature-compatible development at sea]”, funded by the BMU and managed by the BSH, project period 10/2012 to 12/2019 (FKZ: 10036866), a cross-project analysis of all 21 OWF construction projects including substations and converter platforms from 2012 to 2019 in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the North- and Baltic Sea was documented. This report focuses on the technical noise abatement systems and -measures, which have already been used throughout (series application) in the construction of at least one complete OWF and have proven to be offshore-suitable and robust. The aim of the report is to give an overview of site-specific and technical-constructive characteristics of the noise generation and the transmission of pile-driving noise as well as the technical solutions using noise abatement measures necessary to comply with the noise protection values. The final report is now available in English (pdf) and German (pdf).
